It is with great enthusiasm that I express my interest in serving as the Regional Chapter Coordinating Committee (RCCC) Chair for Sigma Theta Tau International. As a dedicated leader, educator, and clinician with over 20 years of progressive experience in nursing academia, clinical practice, research, and advocacy, I am confident that my background positions me to contribute meaningfully to this role and advance Sigma’s mission.
My qualifications for this position are grounded in my active service as President of the Eta Sigma Chapter in Region 14. In this role, I have led initiatives to strengthen member engagement, expand scholarly programming, and promote regional collaboration within our chapter and across Region 14 by mentoring and leading for grow.
I have consistently attended local and regional meetings and events, led collaborated on cross pollination of chapter events locally and within region 14, and contributed to the planning and dissemination of scholarly programming. My contributions have allowed me to present at local, regional, national, and international Sigma events. These experiences reflect the core responsibilities of the RCCC Chair, including setting regional priorities, identifying best practices, and mentoring chapter leaders.
If elected, my primary goal as RCCC Chair will be to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation among chapter leaders. I aim to offer guidance on all aspects of chapter operations, while also building strategic engagement opportunities and promoting professional development across shared interests. By creating a strong sense of community and purpose, I hope to support both personal and chapter growth throughout the regions.
My leadership extends beyond Sigma. I currently serve on the board of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York as Region 6 Director; as an advocate for health equity within CHEST Physicians; as a founding board member and Chair of the Professional Development Committee for the Association of Advanced Practice Pulmonary Providers; and as Treasurer for the Connecticut APRN Society. Through these roles, I have led strategic planning initiatives, facilitated local and national professional development programs, and supported members in achieving board certifications, publishing scholarly work, and securing grant and fellowship opportunities. I bring the same level of strategic vision, dedication, and service to Sigma.
If selected to serve as RCCC Chair, I will bring inclusive leadership, strategic insight, and a steadfast commitment to advancing Sigma’s mission. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with regional coordinators, professional staff, and board members to elevate chapter operations and support the next generation of nursing leaders.
Thank you for your consideration.
