I am honoured and excited to have been selected as a candidate for the position of Regional Coordinator within Sigma. As a committed member of Sigma and an advocate for excellence in nursing leadership, scholarship, and service, I am passionate about fostering collaboration across chapters and strengthening our regional impact.
With over 35 years of experience in nursing, academia, and professional leadership, I bring a depth of knowledge in engaging members, supporting chapter growth, and advancing Sigma’s mission. I have been an active member of Sigma since 2005 and have actively contributed to several international leadership roles including Leadership Succession Committee Member (2015-2017), North American Regional Coordinator (2019-2021), Middle East Regional Coordinator (2021-2023). In addition, I have served as Research Chair (Eta Pi Chapter), Treasurer (Mu Nu Chapter), LSC and Governance Committee Member (Mu Nu Chapter) to mention a few, and I understand the importance of building strong networks that empower nurses at all career stages.
I was also one of the key persons of the Board of Directors of Victorian Tasmanian at-Large Honor Society of Nursing at Melbourne, Australia. I actively engaged in developing a chapter. Now named as Psi-Zeta Chapter, Melbourne. I organized an induction ceremony and professional development day in June 2015 at Victoria University, a grant success. I played a significant contribution in recruiting the members of the society and currently sitting 136 members in 2 years.
I have been playing a vital role as Global Ambassador of Sigma for 3 years. As an ambassador, I travelled internationally to few universities in the Middle East and India and promoted the Sigma to academics. I have made a considerable contribution in creating global visibility to the nursing community across the world by serving as a Global Community Forum Facilitator.
My passion for the nursing profession is countless, and I contributed a lot through evidence-based practice into my teaching, research, and clinical practice globally. I am a very dynamic and enthusiastic person and strive to move forward with Past President Ricciardi’s slogan of infusing joy locally, regionally, and globally.
If elected, I will prioritise chapter support, transparent communication, and the promotion of regional activities that reflect Sigma’s values. I am committed to creating inclusive spaces for innovation, mentoring, and professional development—ensuring that our region thrives and contributes meaningfully to the global nursing community.
I appreciate your consideration and would be privileged to serve in this role.
