I am honored to have been selected by the Leadership Succession Committee to run as a candidate for the North America Region 13 Coordinator position. I have had the privilege of being a registered nurse for over 35 years and a certified nurse educator with more than 25 years of academic teaching experience. I am currently a dual member of Sigma through the Nu Omega (Region 13) and Iota (Region 8) chapters. I am currently a clinical assistant professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
I have been a member of Sigma since 1986 and an active volunteer and leader for the past 20 years. I have been privileged to hold several leadership positions since I joined Sigma. I currently serve as the President Nu Omega for a second term and have served as President for Epsilon Chi chapter. Prior to that I have held positions of Vice President, Secretary, Leadership Succession committee member and as a Delegate multiple times over the past 15 years. My experiences as a Sigma volunteer have been extremely rewarding. I wish to continue my service at the highest levels. My current life stage has given me the time to dedicate to the duties of the position.
If selected as the Region 13 coordinator, I would hope to continue the work of our current coordinator and work to innovate across the region.
1. Support and promote a Region 13 conference.
2. Enhance and sustain the North America Region 3 community by creating connections, supporting communication, and promoting education using The Circle and chapter/regional meetings.
3. Encourage participation and foster activities for Chapter Key awards and other award opportunities.
4. Work with chapters to encourage member retention and member activations.
5. Act as a conduit between Sigma leadership and our chapters, to ensure effective information flow.
6. Assist chapters in developing and implementing strategic plans that align with Sigma's biennial goals.
7. Work with all Regional Coordinators to support Sigma through strategic planning, member engagement, and idea exchange across regions.
I am motivated by my Sigma colleagues and the opportunity to work together toward shared goals. I am sincerely grateful for your consideration and for the opportunity to serve you as the North America Region 13 Coordinator. Thank you for your ongoing support.
