Caitlin Yeager

PhD, RNC-NIC, CHSE, CNE, ANEF

Dear Colleagues,

It is a privilege to be a candidate for the North America Region 10 Coordinator of Sigma during the 2025-2027 biennium. I have served the healthcare industry for 20 years caring for neonates and their families as well as educating nurses and healthcare professionals in professional development and academic settings.

Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Health Resource and Simulation Center at Ursuline College. I serve on various committees related to education, research, and simulation and have contributed to the science of nursing through publications, presentations, and continuing education sessions related to leadership in education, healthcare simulation, and global health. I collaborate with clinical and educational partners to grow the pipeline of future healthcare professionals and have been recognized as a leader in nursing education at the local and state levels. My experiences have provided me with the requisite collaboration, communication, and leadership skills required to serve a diverse Region 10 membership.

Since being inducted into Sigma as a senior nursing student in 2004, I have been dedicated to active membership and leadership in my local chapters. I served as Leadership Succession Chair for Theta Theta at Capital University and as Vice President and now President-Elect of Iota Psi at Ursuline College. During my time with both organizations, I collaborated with other local chapters to provide professional development and research events for members. Additionally, I participated in the Sigma Virtual Mini-Academy for Global Advocacy in Fall 2024 and presented and moderated sessions at the 26th and 35th International Nursing Research Congresses.

I embody the mission of Sigma to develop nurse leaders to improve healthcare. This is shown through my 12 years serving as a volunteer nurse educator in Guyana to empower and mentor nurses to transform neonatal care and over 3 years as a volunteer nurse educator for Project Hope, helping develop nurse faculty leaders in Africa and China. Additionally, I provide mentorship to undergraduate nursing students as a faculty member for the honors program and advisor for the university’s student nurses organization.

I am committed to promoting and advancing the mission and values of Sigma through communication and collaboration with colleagues worldwide. If selected, my priorities are:

  • create community among the chapters of Region 10 by building collaborative relationships to support nursing scholarship, leadership, and service
  • assist in the development of chapter leaders and support strategic planning, operations, and member engagement strategies to promote chapter health
  • serve as a resource to connect chapter leaders and members with the amazing opportunities provided by Sigma to further professional advancement
  • connect with other Regional Chapter Coordinators to empower nurse leaders to transform healthcare and promote nursing excellence worldwide

I appreciate the consideration of your vote and look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you over the next two years!
