Yasmin Nadeem Parpio

MSc Epi & Bio, BSc Nursing

It is with profound honor and enthusiasm that I present my candidacy for the election as the Regional Coordinator for the Middle East Region of Sigma Theta Tau International. Having dedicated 25 years to active membership within the Rho Delta Chapter one of the active chapters in Middle East region, my commitment to Sigma's mission has been a cornerstone of my professional journey.

My extensive involvement includes serving on various standing committees, the distinct privilege of leading as Chapter President, and successfully completing two prior tenures as Regional Coordinator from 2017 to 2021. These experiences have provided me with invaluable insights into the unique needs and immense potential of our region's nursing community. Professionally, I currently serve as a nurse educator and dedicated researcher at the Aga Khan University's School of Nursing and Midwifery in Karachi, Pakistan. My career spans nearly two decades as an educator and researcher at both national and international levels, equipping me with a deep understanding of the evolving landscape of nursing education, practice, and scholarship.

As a public health nurse, I have consistently strived to make a tangible difference in diverse communities. My contributions include developing and implementing vital mental health literacy programs for adolescents and spearheading awareness initiatives in underserved areas, directly impacting the well-being of vulnerable populations. This hands-on experience underscores my strong leadership, adaptive skills, and unwavering dedication to community health.

If I am selected, I am committed to leveraging my proven track record and comprehensive experience to further advance nursing excellence, foster collaborative partnerships, and champion innovative initiatives across the Middle East Region. My passion for Sigma, combined with my deep understanding of regional dynamics and my commitment to service, uniquely positions me to continue guiding our chapters toward greater impact and recognition.

I am confident that I will continue to serve diligently, ensuring that Sigma Theta Tau International remains a beacon of leadership and scholarship in our vibrant region. I respectfully ask for your support as we work together to elevate the nursing profession.
