I am honored to be considered for the Sigma Theta Tau International Governance Committee. Throughout my career, I have remained deeply committed to advancing excellence in nursing leadership, governance, and chapter development within Sigma.
As the inaugural president of the Phi Kappa Chapter, I had the privilege of helping lay the foundation for a strong and sustainable chapter grounded in Sigma's mission. This experience sparked a lasting dedication to organizational development, bylaws, and governance-a commitment that has remained central to my Sigma involvement at both the chapter and international levels.
My international service includes roles on the Conference Planning Committee, where I served as Chairperson, and the International Nurse Leader Review Committee, where I have had the opportunity to help recognize and elevate nurse leaders from across the globe. At the chapter level, I have served in a range of leadership positions including President, Treasurer, Member-at-Large, and on both the Leadership Succession and Governance Committees. These roles have given me a well-rounded understanding of Sigma's structure, values, and the operational challenges and opportunities facing chapters of all sizes.
I bring to the Governance Committee strong expertise in bylaws development and revision, parliamentary procedure, and chapter leadership development. I believe good governance is not only about compliance but about building systems that empower members, elevate nursing leadership, and sustain the growth of our global organization. As a faculty leader and now Campus Dean for Post-Licensure Nursing programs at West Coast University, I have consistently mentored nurse leaders, guided teams through accreditation and policy review processes, and facilitated consensus-driven decision-making.
If elected, I will bring experience, integrity, and a deep respect for the shared governance model that is central to Sigma's success. I am committed to supporting chapters, clarifying governance structures, and ensuring bylaws are maintained and aligned with the strategic priorities of our organization.
Thank you for your consideration and for the opportunity to continue serving Sigma's mission of advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.
