I have been a member of Sigma since 1995 in 3 different Chapters. I have served in all Board positions over this tenure, including 2 President terms at different chapters. Most recently, I served as Region 02 Coordinator.
In addition to starting a Sigma chapter, I secured a time slot at monthly faculty meetings and developed two annual student awards. I continue to recruit nurse leaders and encourage student participation. I am a role model for future nurse leaders through my faculty role and support the Sigma organization.
After developing the Alpha Beta Eta chapter, I realized my interest in Sigma and leadership capacity. I recognize my strengths in collaboration, motivation, and commitment to Sigma. I have current knowledge of Sigma and the various components of the organization. As a past president of two chapters and Charter founder, and Region Coordinator, I have the experience to move forward to yet another leadership challenge. I have a great deal of energy and passion for Sigma. I feel with my experience, I can adequately and competently serve on the Governance Committee.
