Governance Committee - Four-Year Term

Sarah Schroyer

DNP, RN, CHPN, NE-BC, CNE

I am deeply honored to be considered for service on the Governance Committee. With over a decade of combined experience in academic and clinical leadership, I am steadfastly committed to advancing the field of nursing leadership and fostering the development of future leaders.

Currently, I serve as an Associate Professor at Grand Canyon University, where I have played a pivotal role in shaping graduate nursing education. My contributions include the design and launch of the Master of Science in Nursing program with emphasis in Health Care Quality and Patient Safety and the redesign on the Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis in Leadership in Health Care Systems. Additionally, I lead the innovative dual-degree program combining a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Nursing. Over the past seven years, I have led the MSN Leadership program, mentoring faculty and graduate students as they transition into academic, administrative, and systems-based leadership roles. I also co-lead our College of Nursing and Health Care Professions Systematic Plan of Programmatic Evaluation.

Prior to my academic tenure, I held leadership positions in hospice and medical respite care, with a focus on delivering compassionate, coordinated care to individuals experiencing homelessness, ensuring inclusive quality care for diverse populations. These experiences continue to inform my enduring commitment to equity, inclusion, and servant leadership. My engagement with Sigma has been both long-standing and intentional. I am an active member in both the Delta Chi-at-Large and Nu Upsilon chapters. During my seven years with Nu Upsilon, I have served as Chair of the Leadership Succession Committee and held two terms as Chair of the Governance Committee. These roles have enabled me to contribute to strategic planning, strengthen board governance, and mentor emerging leaders, most notably through the creation of a chapter leadership internship program. Throughout my tenure as Governance Chair, I have led our committee and chapter in developing a Policy and Procedure Handbook to guide current and future Board Members.

It would be a privilege to contribute to Sigma’s mission by supporting and empowering current and future leaders within our global community through governance. I sincerely appreciate your consideration.
