Highly cited and globally ranked: Sigma's journals in the top 10%

INDIANAPOLIS — Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing’s (Sigma’s) two journals rank in the top 10% of nursing journals globally, according to Clarivate’s newest Journal Impact Factor (JIF) metrics. Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing (Worldviews) and the Journal of Nursing Scholarship (JNS) are among the most frequently cited nursing journals in the world.

Worldviews ranks fourth among 194 nursing journals internationally with a JIF of 5.3. The journal publishes evidence-based information to improve patient care through best-practice applications and recommendations for clinical practice, nursing education, administration, and public health policy.

JNS ranks 15th among 194 nursing journals with a JIF of 3.9. The journal publishes thought-provoking research by the world’s leading nurse researchers, with a focus on the health of people worldwide.

“Sigma is proud to provide nurses everywhere with trusted sources for their scholarship and practice,” said Sigma Chief Executive Officer Lucas M. Davis, MEd, CAE. “With Worldviews and JNS, nurses can be confident they are engaging with the most current and relevant research in the field, and that publishing in them is a premier platform to influence the field through their research.”

“These rankings reflect the exceptional work of everyone who contributes to Sigma’s journals,” said Sigma President Dr. Liz Westcott, DCM, MSc, DipMan, RNT, RN, FFNMRCSI. “Drs. Bernadette Melnyk and Susan Gennaro, editors of Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing and the Journal of Nursing Scholarship, respectively, along with the Sigma publications department and all of the journals’ contributors, are leading the way to transform global healthcare.”

Sigma members have free access to Worldviews and JNS as a member benefit. Non-members can access these journals via The Wiley Online Library. Find out more at SigmaNursing.org/Journals.
