INDIANAPOLIS—In an increasingly complex healthcare system with rising expectations, academic-practice partnership are more important than ever. Leading Academic-Practice Partnerships in Nursing and Healthcare arrives as the first of its kind from
Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma). Nursing faculty and practice leaders with nearly two decades of experience guide readers from the foundations to tools and examples, and through the partnership’s evolution, because
just as practice and teaching evolve, so do partnerships.
Grounded in the American Association for Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Essentials, the authors Doreen C. Harper, Maria R. Shirey, Cynthia Selleck, Michele H. Talley, and Connie White Williams draw on that experience to deliver a proven, scalable framework
that addresses why these partnerships matter, how to build them, and how to sustain them over time.
Designed for faculty and students across baccalaureate through postdoctoral programs in nursing and other health professions, this book is an essential resource for anyone working to strengthen the connection between education and practice, because when
those two collaborate, patients and the profession are better for it.
