Sigma members,
As we head into an exciting season for Sigma and the global nursing community, I want to take a moment to reflect on the powerful momentum we’re building together—and all that’s ahead.
Last month, I had the honor of representing Sigma at the International Council of Nurses Congress in Helsinki, Finland. What an incredible week—connecting with so many of our global members and nurse leaders from around the world. The energy, collaboration, and shared vision for the future of nursing left me hopeful for the future.
That sense of inspiration was carried into our board meeting last week, where our Board of Directors met to continue driving Sigma’s mission forward and ensuring we grow, serve, and lead in meaningful ways. Their work is rooted in your voices, your passion, and our collective commitment to nursing excellence.
Next, we turn to Seattle for the 36th International Nursing Research Congress, where 1,000 nurse researchers, students, clinicians, and leaders will gather to advance nursing science and forge global collaborations. If you’re joining us, I know you’ll walk away inspired, informed, and deeply connected.
And then in November, we’ll gather in Indianapolis for Sigma’s 48th Biennial Convention—our largest and most vibrant event. Imagine thousands of nurses from around the world exchanging ideas, showcasing transformative research, and celebrating the impact of our profession. Convention is more than a conference—it’s a celebration of what unites us and a launching point for what’s next. I hope you’ll join us!
I’m also proud to share a new and exciting partnership with Lecturio, a leading digital healthcare education platform. Together, we’re expanding support for our student and faculty members through exclusive access to NCLEX® prep resources and a full nursing curriculum designed to strengthen learning and ease the transition into practice. This is a powerful step in empowering our future nurse leaders.
Wherever you are in the world, I hope you feel connected to Sigma and the global movement we’re building together. Whether you’re advancing research, mentoring the next generation, or making a difference every day in your community—your work matters.
Here’s to the power of nursing, leadership, and our shared mission.
With gratitude,
Lucas M. Davis, MEd, CAE
