Leadership Education Grant opportunities available through the Sigma Foundation for Nursing assist in offsetting the cost of attending the 37th International Nursing Research Congress in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from 16-18 July 2026.

The application deadline is 16 February 2026. Thank you for your interest.

Grant Recipient Requirements

  • This grant is a reimbursement grant. Grant recipients are responsible for paying all fees associated with attending congress up front.
  • Recipients must be registered for the full event by the early registration deadline. 
  • Recipients will receive the grant funding via US check or wire transfer upon arrival at the Foundation Luncheon. Date and time will be announced in the award letter. Attendance at the Foundation Luncheon is mandatory.

Edith Anderson Leadership Education Grant
Dr. Doris J. Froebe Leadership Education Grant

Recipient(s) will receive the grant funding at the Foundation Luncheon.

Criteria:

  • The applicant must be a current Sigma member.
  • The applicant must find it difficult, if not impossible, to attend congress without financial support.
  • The applicant must attend the entire event (16-18 July 2026).

Dr. Constance M. Baker Leadership Education Grant

Recipient will receive the grant funding at the Foundation Luncheon.

Criteria:

  • The applicant must be a current Sigma member in Africa.
  • The applicant must be presenting their accepted research (podium or poster) in person.
  • The applicant must find it difficult, if not impossible, to attend congress without financial support.
  • The applicant must attend the entire event (16-18 July 2026).

Omicron Delta Leadership Education Grant

Recipient will receive the grant funding at the Foundation Luncheon.

Criteria:

  • Current Sigma member living in a middle- or low-income country (as defined by the World Bank Classifications).
  • The applicant must find it difficult, if not impossible, to attend congress without financial support.
  • The applicant must attend the entire event (16-18 July 2026).

*Please note: Due to limited funds available, preference is given to applicants whose abstracts or posters have been accepted for presentation, except where noted. Incomplete application and applications that do not meet the criteria listed above will not be reviewed and no additional correspondence will be sent.
