9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (0900-1300)
As a pre-conference option, Sigma is hosting a free, three-hour hackathon to the first 100 attendees who sign up.
The topic for this hackathon will be to develop innovative solutions in the creation and implementation of meaningful recognition of nurses.
Hackathon participants will be given instructions, assigned a group and facilitator via a breakout room, collaborate on the hackathon topic, create a scientific write-up (executive summary) including marketing and budget information, and give a 3-5-minute pitch to a panel of judges. Judges will determine first through third place. The winner will receive time with leaders in innovation to further develop their idea.
Participants may seek advice during the innovative experience. There will be experts in business, marketing, and/or computer software to act as resources for idea development.
The hackathon will bring together academic and clinical thought leaders from throughout the world with complementary skills and knowledge to create an innovative research or evidence-based project, focused on meaningful recognition of nurses. Subsequently, this work may provide the momentum needed to launch a new collaboration, form the basis for a joint funding proposal, and/or ultimately, a research project with associated dissemination activities (manuscripts, scientific presentations).
- Sigma will claim no intellectual property rights and are not responsible for idea stealing between groups or group members.
- We will not form teams in advance.
- Winners will be announced at the end of the session or plenary and presented with e-certificates.
