Achieving Quality through Evidence-Based Practice and Process Improvement Synergy: The EQUiPP Framework

This framework is uniquely designed to provide structure and guidance to synergistically align EBP and Pl work to effectively improve and sustain outcomes. Using the EQUiPP Framework reduces the frequency of implementing ineffective changes, saves time and money, and improves care and outcomes. The EQUiPP Framework also integrates evidence-based practice and process improvement methods for sustained quality and is the only tested operational quality framework that includes critical domains that support best practice/care/outcomes: research (the generation of new evidence), EBP (determination of the current, best evidence to support care), Pl (determination of the best processes to deliver the best evidence-based care), innovation (the ability to imagine new approaches to care) and implementation science strategies (to support implementation and sustainability). The EQUiPP Framework provides a structure for collaborative interprofessional efforts to effectively identify best practices/processes, implement and sustain change, and improve outcomes.
