On Thursday, 21 July 2016, 19 leadership education grants were awarded to nurse researchers from six global regions during the Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation for Nursing Donor & Grant Recipient Tea. Donations to the Foundation's leadership fund made these grants possible.
Monina Gesmundo traveled from New Zealand to present her research at her first international conference. Lisa Johnson, from North America, recently completed her doctorate in education and is a new nursing education professor in the United States.
Sigma President Cathy Catrambone announced that more than 100 requests were received for leadership education grants to attend the 27th International Nursing Research Congress. Unfortunately, only 19 of the requests could be funded. The 86 nurse researchers who were not funded did not attend research congress to present their accepted abstracts.
